National Specialty Regular and Non-Regular classes:

Ms. Marjorie Martorella,

Ms. Marjorie Martorella is a retired New York City junior high-school Spanish teacher. She has been actively involved in the sport of dogs since 1966, engaging in obedience, conformation, and serving Pointer and English Cocker Spaniel breed clubs in distinguished roles including; president, show chairman and founding member of the Pointer Club of Central New Jersey.  She has bred and shown Pointers and English Cocker Spaniel. Ms Martorella’s Marjetta Kennel has produced over 125 Pointer champions and 10 English Cocker Spaniel champions, including Best in Show at Westminster with CH Marjetta's National Acclaim (1986). Since 1981, Ms. Martorella has been progressively approved to judge AKC sporting, hound and working groups, and certain non-sporting breeds including: Bichon Frise, Dalmatian, and French Bulldog. Judging assignments have taken her across the U.S.A., and to many international destinations. Career highlights include judging at; debuts at AKC Eukanuba National Championship (2005) and Westminster (2021), the AKC Centennial Show (Pointers), Best in Show at Louisville and the Atlanta Kennel Club, as well as numerous national breed specialty shows. She currently serves as president and show chairman of the New Brunswick Kennel Club and is member of the English Cocker Spaniel Club of America.


Mrs. Lisa Sobon

Mrs. Sobon has been actively involved in the sport of dogs under the Larcan Kennel name for over 20 years, starting with Flat Coated retrievers. Her first Lagotto litter was whelped in 2011 and was among the earlier litters born in the USA.  Mrs. Sobon has traveled to Europe multiple times to learn from long time breeders and attended a Lagotti seminar by renowned breed specialist and judge Prof. Giovanni Morsiani.  Since AKC’s full recognition in 2015, Lisa has bred over 20 Lagotti that have attained titles in diverse areas that include; Conformation, Tracking, Rally, Nose Work, Agility, Dock Diving, Trick Dogs as well as dogs certifying in Search and Rescue, Diabetic Detection and many CGC’s.  In conformation, Larcan dogs have received recognition at National Specialties, BOB at the AKC National Championship, Awards of Merit at Westminster and the National Championship, Group Winner and a Reserve Best in Show, as well as multiple National Owner Handler top ranking dogs.  Her desire to produce purpose breed Lagotti has prompted her to team with a local truffiere to put on training events for dog ang and owner to participate in truffle hunting.  Mrs. Sobon has served the Lagotto Romagnolo Club of America in several Board positions and currently enjoys working as an AKC Judges Breed Mentor and Judges Education committee member.

Saturday Supported Entry Judge:

Ms. Adrienne Perry

Ms. Perry started showing dogs as a child, first in obedience with a Miniature Schnauzer, then later with a Giant Schnauzer. After college, she started showing Rottweilers in conformation and obedience and then Carting, Rally, Tracking, Herding, and Schutzhund.  She has shown in USRC Rottweiler European style shows, and ASCA Obedience where she is a judge.  As an AKC Breeder of Merit, in 2009 Allegro Lagotto imported their first Lagotto from Switzerland. He eventually became FCI Int’ Champion, Swiss and German Champion, US/PR Grand Champion Terzo Kleo of Golden Comfort UD TD NA RE TT.  Terzo was followed by GCHS Nostryffelns Ottima Opera RI RATN CAT, “Jetta,” who became the foundation bitch for Allegro Lagotto.  At the Premier National Specialty in 2016 she won Select Bitch and Best Coat, and in 2017 and 2018 at National Specialties the Award of Merit.  Jetta was BOS at Westminster 2017 and Award of Merit in 2019.  Ms. Perry is currently the head of the Judges Education committee and has served as former Club President, Board member, and worked on the original breed standard and its revision by working with Sr. Gilberto Grandi in Italy. She is working on fulfilling her requirements to judge Rottweilers, working breeds, and other sporting dogs.
