Recognition:

The Board of Directors of Lagotto Club of America have donated start-up funds, website funding, extraordinary amounts of time in setting up the website, incorporation of our club, developing the documents necessary to establish the club, managing the initial financial documents and involving their creative talents to further the interests of our club. A big thank you goes to the Founding Board of Directors of Lagotto Club of America who have spent many hours, many dollars and much dedication; Scott Carver, Lisa Erdekian, Judith Martin, Mel Sykes, Ken Weiss, Therese Williams and Bob Zemmel. Our club needs and depends on its members and friends to help volunteer time, talent and funds to continue the efforts of the officers of our club. We wish to thank the following persons:

2009 Awards and Honors for Club Members and Lagotti:

Spark Plug Award (for advancing the club) - Xan McGivney for her help in several areas including her help with the North East Raduno and the club website. Xan helped with AKC Meet the Breed in New York.  She does all this while raising a young family.

Tail Wagger Award (for advancement of breed) - Faith Robb travels out of her way to meet up folks who want to meet a Lagotto, she attends Dog Shows in Arizona including Prescott, the Fiesta Cluster last year and this year’s shows coming up, she provided major assistance with our Raduno both financially and with volunteer help. She started this year as a novice groomer and handler, winning titles on all her dogs and always keeping them looking like good examples of the breed.

Truffie Awards (for the most titled Lagotto in our club)  - Truffie was the first Lagotto to be shown in conformation in the US.

IABCA Junior National and Adult International Champion - Apollon, owned and handled by Faith Robb of Arizona. Angelus Mei Apollon is a Slovakian import bred by Dodi Fodor.

Non-US Shows 2009 Roma, owned and handled by Robin Morehouse of New Mexico. Roma is an Italian import bred by Margherita Altinieri. Roma won championship points while showing in Dortmund, Germany, Saarbrucken, Germany and two days in St. Gallen Switzerland. Roma won Best of Breed one day and Best Opposite the following day over a field of 22 entries. Roma also won an IABCA (International All Breed Canine Association) Baby International Champion in 2007.

IABC Baby International Champion - Bella, 1st US born champion, owned by Jocelyn Slatin and handled by Judith Martin. Jamboree Bella Nina out of Italian imports Cry Out VID Orvando at Shivaree and “Ava”, Aida di Villa Federici.

Primo Awards - Primo, (registered name Ponzio) was the first Lagotto to earn an AKC title, NA and NAJ in Agility. Owned and handled by Barbara Paul and now living with club member, Anthony Galzano. In 2000 Primo earned Bahamian Championship, Latin America Championship and Dominican Republic Championship. In addition, Primo was the first Lagotto to win Best of Breed with ARBA, American Rare Breed Association.

Rally Titlist - Terzo, our first rally titlist, owned and handled by Adrienne Perry. Terzo Kleo of Golden Comfort CGC earned title of RN or Rally Novice at 7 months of age. Terzo is an import from Golden Comfort of Switzerland.

Doppio Premo (double supreme, or excellence in beauty as well as brains) - Terzo, our only Conformation champion that also has a companion title for this year.

Clara, Ester Dei Silvanbull CGC, Italian import owned and handled by Robin Bell

Bella, Ca’ Del Corsi Alexis CGC, Italian import owned and handled by Robin Bell

Meta, Meta della Metaurense CGC, Italian import owned and handled by Judith Rabin Schutzman

Sophia, Metanoia's Sophia Louise Minardi CGC, Complex Therapy Dog, owned and handled by Christine Anne Minardi

2008 Awards and Honors for Club Members and Lagotti:

Tail Wagger Award - Hillary Gibbs-Sykes who has done the most work to advance the cause of the breed in the United States, for all her work in getting the Lagotto Breed entered into the American Kennel Club Foundation Stock Service Program (AKC FSS).

Spark Plug Award - Kate Wall-Ganz who has done an exceptional amount of work volunteering for the benefit of our club members and for helping promote the breed, served on committees, and also planned a very successful LCA Fun Match in New Mexico summer 2008.

Truffie Award (for the most titled Lagotto in our club) - Teo, registered name, Swiss Teodoro of Golden Comfort, owned by Kate Wall-Ganz of New Mexico - 2007 Mexican National Junior Champion (FCI), 2007 All Americas Junior Champion (FCI), 2007 World Junior Champion (FCI), 2007 IABCA International Champion, Additional Best of Breed and Group wins

Runner up for Truffie Award - Gigi, registered name, Gigi dela Metaurense, AKC Canine Good Citizen, owned by Bob Zemmel of Connecticut - 2004 ARBA Champion and Group Winner, 2005 World Jr Lagotto Champion, Buenos Aires, 2005 Argentinian Jr Lagotto Buenos Aires
