Health Information
This breed has no particular predisposition for diseases of the skin or for otitis, as long as the coat is properly looked after and checks made for parasites. Among hereditary conditions there is a certain incidence of hip dysplasia, for which a control program exists to only breed dogs with verified good hips. In Great Britain there have been a few reports of cerebral anomaly which usually is manifested before 10 weeks of age. Buying a puppy from a reputable breeder who knows the genetic history of the parents should eliminate any danger of this for the new owner.
